Starting in 2023, the goal of Brakelight Productions is to fill a gap in Far North Queensland for high-quality content and creative projects that are targeted towards alternative audiences worldwide whether it be goths, metalheads, punks or those who simply don’t fit in with societal norms.
As such Brakelight has catered to a clientele that many production houses would ignore including alternative content creators, musicians, tattoo artists and clothing stores. On top of this, Brakelight Productions also produces it’s own original content ranging from feature films to documentaries and online content. All of it edgy, loud and unapologetic.

Meet The Team
Curtis Lambert - Founder & Creative Director
Having been in the film industry now for 9 years, Curtis created Brakelight Productions as an outlet for his creative works in the music video, horror and alternative content creation industries. Since its creation in 2023, not only does he manage the day-to-day of the business but also the filming, editing and creative direction of the projects involved.
When he’s not filming for Brakelight, he is often creating content for various Youtube channels and working as a freelancer on various large-scale productions often as a boom operator, data wrangler or chaperone.
Nicole Monafis - Photographer
After over 10 years being a hobbyist photographer, Nick decided it was time to officially kickstart their career with Brakelight in 2024. Since beginning their journey with Brakelight, Nick has been responsible for taking photos for clients, filming behind the scenes footage of music videos, and assisting with the creative direction of different projects within Brakelight.
Outside of Brakelight, Nick enjoys shooting with the Mini Collective Cairns as both a model and photographer. They also do occasional background extra work or behind the scenes photography for local productions in the Cairns region.
